VIVIN first began as a pop up store at the Bangkok Farmers Market in 2014 selling only whole foie-gras terrine, a recipe from the Grandmother of Nicolas Vivin, who added his own twist to the equation. Some of those twists were to incorporate local products into the foie gras, such as infusing the Phuket-based rum, Chalong Bay Rum or Strawberries from Chiang Mai.
Nicolas and his business partner and wife, a food marketing guru, Samantha Proyrungtong, had long believed in the application and promotion of local products as the more sustainable alternatives for finer food. These local versions of finer foods are now much more widely accepted in Thailand today. In the beginning, the couple faced many challenges to convince and educate, both local and International customers of the potential, quality and benefit of artisanal Thai products. They fought to raise the profile of Local and Artisanal, together with a handful of passionate artisans who were pioneering this niche industry.
After more development and expansion of the VIVIN brand and range, VIVIN opened boutique corners in Emquartier and Central Chidlom to which aided the brand to reach a more commercial market. Eventually VIVIN closed their mini corners to focus on their first stand-alone store just prior to the COVID outbreak in Thailand. VIVIN, with their new found independence and own brick and mortar store, rebranded to become “VIVIN Grocery.”
The first “VIVIN Grocery” store located at Ekamai Complex, opened in November 2019. Since then, the grocery has further expanded the range to offer more quality produce from Thailand; certified organic seasonal vegetables, Thai grass fed cow milk, Charolais Thai Beef, free range eggs, artisanal granolas, jams, bakery and much more. Making VIVIN Grocery a one-of-its-kind boutique grocery store in Thailand. #ItsAllAboutProduct
